Attraction Rules








Please read carefully

Please ensure that you abide by our attraction rules and regulations otherwise you and your party may be asked to leave the attraction, or the park. Knockhatch Adventure Park Limited reserves the right to refuse admission or terminate an attraction and cannot accept liability for injury caused whilst using an attraction. Knockhatch Adventure Park Limited accepts no responsibility for damage or loss of personal items and clothing whilst using any attractions.

When Queuing

  • No smoking
  • No queue jumping
  • You can not hold a place for anyone else
  • Please do not climb on the fences or gates

Avalanche Slide

The Avalanche Slide is intended to be used by children and adults of all ages but we recommend that children under 4 years old ride with an adult.
  • Do not run up and down the slope
  • Use the Ringos only
  • Make sure your run is clear before attempting a descent
  • Sit on the Ringo with your feet facing down the hill only
  • Do not stand up on the Ringos
  • No rough play
  • When there's a queue have one ride, then hand your Ringo to the next person in line
Children using this equipment must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Knockhatch Adventure Park Ltd cannot accept any liability for injury caused whilst using this attraction.

Bungee Trampoline

You Must:
  • Understand that there is a possibility of injury when using this attraction.
  • Weigh less than 85kg (190lbs)
  • Be in good health for this activity. No heart or back problems etc...
  • Listen and obey instructions
  • Not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication
  • Stay still in the middle of the trampoline until winched into the air and instructed by the operator to start bouncing
  • Take extra care when getting on or off the trampolines and going up and down the steps
You Must Not:
  • Enter the trampoline zone if the operator isn’t present
  • Jump on the trampoline before being attached or after being detached
  • Walk or stand under the trampoline
  • Eat, drink or smoke in the trampoline zone
  • Go near the edge of the steps, decking or trampolines

Cannon Arena

This play area is for all ages of children and adults. A responsible adult must accompany under 6's. This is not a soft play area and has all the associated risks of injury as an adventure playground.There are softball firing cannons that will be fired at you. Upon entering this activity you accept the risks and will adhere to the following rules:
  • Parents and guardians must supervise all children at all times using this play facility
  • Shoes must be clean before entering
  • No barefeet
  • Do not stand too close to the front of the Cannons
  • No liability will be accepted for any losses, damage or theft whilst in the Cannon Arena.No food or drink within the play area.
  • Anyone with any medical conditions, which may be affected by the play area should not enter.
  • Anyone who feels unwell should not enter the play area.
  • Please remove all jewellery, badges and other sharp objects.
  • Clothes (top and bottoms) need to be worn in the play area.
  • Anyone wearing glasses or contact lenses should take particular care.
  • No glassware within the play area.
  • No bullying or fighting.
  • No running within the play area.

Chair 'O' Plane

  • Spectators must remain behind the safety barrier
  • You must stay seated until the operator indicates the ride has stopped
  • Sit back in the chair - no leaning forward
  • Keep your feet up - do not drag your feet along the ground
  • Do not swing the chair
  • Keep the chain fastened until the ride has stopped
  • Secure all loose clothing and shoes
  • This attraction could cause motion sickness
  • If you have just eaten please do not use this ride

Dragon Castle High Ropes

  • To climb on your own, you must be at least 1.3m. If under 16 years old, you must be supervised from the ground by a responsible adult (17yrs+). If you are supervising from the ground, you must be able to see clearly at a distance of no more than 20 metres. 8 children to 1 adult.
  • Anyone between 1 metre to 1.3 metres and at least 7 years old can climb but must be accompanied by a responsible adult (17yrs+) who has to climb as well. 1 child to 1 adult. Everyone climbing must purchase a ticket.
  • The maximum weight to climb is 120kg (18.5 stone).
  • Any person with a disability must inform the staff member at the high ropes course and be accompanied by a responsible adult (17yrs+) who has to climb as well.
Before climbing:
  • Knockhatch Instructor will provide instruction. Listen carefully and ask if you are unsure. Any instruction given by a Knockhatch instructor must be obeyed at all times.
  • Enclosed shoes must be worn. No backless shoes, flip flops, crocs or sandals.
  • As much skin as possible should be covered. Any exposed skin could be rubbed by the harness and is more likely to receive injury on the apparatus.
  • Remove any loose clothing i.e. scarfs.
  • Remove as much jewellery as possible i.e. hoop earrings/facial piercings, necklaces, bracelets and rings. Any jewellery not removed may get caught and cause injury to yourself.
  • All pockets need to be emptied or sealed.
  • Tie long hair up.
  • Any mobile devices such as cameras or mobile phones that you wish to take on the course must be attached to you at all times.
  • All loose items must be attached to you at all times or in a sealed pocket.
  • No chewing gum.
  • No-one assumed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs may climb.
  • We advise that anyone who is pregnant or with any medical conditions that may be affected by climbing i.e. heart conditions, back or spinal problems, should not attempt to climb.
Your kit:

  • A Knockhatch Instructor will fit your harness. Once your harness has been fitted you must not touch any part of it. If your harness needs adjusting, please ask a Knockhatch Instructor.
The course:
  • Platforms
    • A maximum of 2 people can be on a platform at one time.
  • All other activities
    • Only 1 person on zip wire or crossing at one time
  • Zip Wires
    • Only 1 person can descend a zip wire at a time.
    • Check the landing site and zip wire are clear before descending.
    • Never hold onto the zip wire cable.
    • Hold onto your black safety line
    • Keep your head away from and to one side of the zip wire and keep your feet pointing downwards.
    • When landing, relax – if you land forwards run as soon as you land and slow yourself down, if you land facing backwards or sideways, drag your heels to slow down, DO NOT try and turn yourself around.
    • Exit the landing zone immediately to avoid collision.


By taking part in this activity you are agreeing to adhere to all the rules. Failure to comply with any of these rules will result in termination of your climb and no refund will be given.

Froggies - Building rules

  • No picnics are allowed in Froggies. Only food and drink purchased at Knockhatch Adventure Park may be consumed in this facility. On Yellow days picnics can be eaten in the Tommy Tractor Play barn and on green days and orange days picnics can also be eaten in the barn next to the Bear's Den Burger Barn. We will allow baby food, any food for customers with allergies (proof may be asked for, please inform Froggies Staff) and sports bottles with water in.
  • Children must be supervised at all times
  • Shoes should be placed in the shoe racks
  • Please remove shoes filled with sand or woodchips before entering the building
  • Customers must adhere to the individual play area rules
  • Please help to keep the play area clean and tidy by putting all rubbish in the bins provided once you have finished with your table

Froggies - Rules of play in Froggies

  • Parents and guardians must supervise children at all times whilst using this play facility
  • No running within the play area
  • Remove all shoes before entering the play area, socks must be worn at all times
  • No food or drink within the play area
  • No glassware within the play area
  • Children wearing glasses or contact lenses should take particular care
  • No throwing on playpen balls
  • Arms and legs should be covered on the play area

Froggies ~ Newts Play Area (0-3 years)

  • Parents and guardians must supervise children at all times whilst using this play facility and make sure children are within this age group
  • We recommend that toddlers are accompanied by an adult. Older children are allowed to supervise younger children but are NOT allowed to play in this area.
  • No running within the play area
  • Remove all shoes before entering the play area, socks must be worn at all times
  • No food or drink within the play area
  • No glassware within the play area
  • Children wearing glasses or contact lenses should take particular care
  • No throwing of playpen balls
  • No climbing on the house roof
  • Arms and legs should be covered on the play area
  • Please remove all jewellery, badges and other sharp objects
  • Children who feel unwell should not enter the play area
  • No Liability will be accepted for any losses, damage or theft.

Froggies ~ Tadpoles (3-6 years)

  • This area is for children aged 3-6 years old
  • Parents and guardians must supervise children at all times whilst using this play facility and make sure children are within this age group
  • No running within the play area
  • Remove all shoes before entering the play area, socks must be worn at all times
  • No food or drink within the play area
  • No glassware within the play area
  • Children wearing glasses or contact lenses should take particular care
  • No throwing of playpen balls
  • Arms and legs should be covered in the play area
  • Please remove all jewellery, badges and other sharp objects
  • Children who feel unwell should not enter the play area
  • No Liability will be accepted for any losses, damage or theft.

Froggies ~ Lilly Hopper (4 years+)

  • This area is for children aged 4 years old and above
  • Parents and guardians must supervise children at all times whilst using this play facility and make sure children are within this age group
  • No more than 4 people at a time
  • No somersaults, pushing or running back and forth
  • No jumping near the edge
  • Remove all shoes before entering the play area, socks must be worn at all times
  • No food or drink within the play area
  • No glassware within the play area
  • Children wearing glasses or contact lenses should take particular care
  • No throwing of playpen balls
  • Arms and legs should be covered in the play area
  • Please remove all jewellery, badges and other sharp objects
  • Children who feel unwell should not enter the play area
  • No Liability will be accepted for any losses, damage or theft.

Froggies ~ Play area (7 years +)

  • Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that children are within this age group (7 years+)
  • No running within the play area
  • Remove all shoes before entering the play area, socks must be worn at all times
  • No food or drink within the play area
  • No glassware within the play area
  • Children wearing glasses or contact lenses should take particular care
  • No throwing of playpen balls
  • Arms and legs should be covered in the play area
  • Please remove all jewellery, badges and other sharp objects
  • Children who feel unwell should not enter the play area
  • No Liability will be accepted for any losses, damage or theft.

Go-Karts

  • Drivers must be a minimum of 1.5 metres tall and 13 years old
  • Passengers must be a minimum of 1.1 metres tall
  • Passengers must be driven by a member of their own family or group. To take a passenger the driver must be 16 years or older.
  • Guests require full body control to drive a Go-Kart and must be able to understand safety instructions and operational controls. The marshal will assess each individual that meets the initial driver restrictions and their decision on the individual’s ability to drive and safely control a Go-Kart is final. If the marshal decides that the individual cannot drive then they will need a driver with them who must be 16 years or over to drive.
  • To ride as a passenger, you require upper body control.
  • The marshals will provide instruction. Listen carefully and ask if you are unsure
  • The marshal’s instructions must be obeyed at all times
  • No smoking, food or drink within the track perimeter
  • Remove scarves, secure loose clothing and tie long hair up
  • Drivers must wear suitable foot wear
  • No-one assumed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs may drive
  • Seat belts must be worn at all times
  • Do not undo your seat belt or leave your go-kart until instructed to do so
  • RIGHT FOOT for GO – LEFT FOOT to BRAKE and STOP. Only press one pedal at a time
  • Always look where you are going whilst driving and keep both hands firmly on the steering wheel
  • No bumping or reckless driving. Go-Karting is strictly non-contact
  • Slower drivers are recommended to keep to the left-hand side of the track
  • If assistance is required remain seated with your seat belt fastened and raise your hand
  • You must obey flags, lights and safety signs
  • All spectators must remain behind the safety barriers
  • All intentional damage to Knockhatch Adventure Park equipment must be paid for
  • We advise that anyone who is pregnant or with any medical conditions that may be affected on this ride i.e. heart conditions, back or spinal problems, should not attempt to ride.
  • Persons with broken / fractured limbs cannot ride
  • Helmets are available on request
  • Knockhatch Adventure Park accepts no responsibility for damage to personal items and clothing

Mini Quad Bikes

  • Participants have to be 4 years old or above to ride on their own. Any child under the age of 4 can ride with an adult on the back of the quad.
  • Stay seated, keeping arms and legs within the quad at all times
  • No bumping or reckless driving
  • Keep both hands on the handle bars and also look where you are going
  • If the quad stops, stay seated and wait for help
  • The marshals instructions must be obeyed
  • All spectators must remain behind the safety barriers
  • Shoe laces must be tied and all loose clothing must be removed
  • You are about to participate in a motor sport with all the associated dangers of a race track. Please be sensible at all times.

Jumping Pillows

Please use this attraction sensibly as this is an unsupervised attraction. Adults must supervise at all times. There is a possibility of injury due to colliding with each other. This is a physical activity so please be aware that normal sporting injuries are possible whilst using this equipment.

  • Large jumping pillow maximum 24 persons, aged 10 years old and above only
  • Small jumping pillow maximum 11 children under 10 years only
  • No shoes to be worn on the pillows, please store shoes away from the edge
  • No running, somersaults or flips
  • Do not jump near the edge of the pillow
  • Friction burns can occur
  • Do not use when wet

Lost World Playbarn

This play area is for all ages of children/adults. A responsible adult must accompany under 6’s. It is a play area that is not a soft play and has all the associated risks of injury as an adventure playground. Upon entering this activity, you accept the follwing risk and will adhere to the following rules:
  • Parents/Guardians must supervise all children at all times using this play facility
  • There’s an incredibly high risk of friction burns using these slides. To minimise the risk please wear (minimum) a t-shirt (no vest tops), knee length shorts and a pair of socks. We have signage around this attraction to indicate this. Our staff try to watch for inappropriate clothing worn, they will not allow you to use the slides if they deem clothing inappropriate. However, for riding the slides, we advise that long sleeved tops, tucked in on all sides and trousers are worn. Parents are responsible for their children around Knockhatch Adventure Park and they must make themselves aware of the attraction rules and recommendations via our website/signage around the Park.
  • Thin clothing may burn through causing friction burns.
  • We advise shoes to be worn in the climbing frame area. .
  • No running within the play area.
  • No bullying or fighting.
  • No food, drink or chewing gum within the play area.
  • No glassware within the play area.
  • Anyone wearing glasses or contact lenses should take particular care.
  • Please remove all jewellery, badges and other sharp objects.
  • Anyone who feels unwell should not enter the play area.
  • Anyone with any medical conditions, which may be affected by the play area should not enter.
  • Follow all individual slide rules found at the top of each slide. Go down feet first and move away quickly once you reach the bottom.
  • Do not climb on the netting in the climbing frame area.
  • Do not touch the dinosaurs.
  • Always keep behind the fences.
No liability will be accepted for any losses, damage or theft whilst in the Lost World Playbarn.
KNOCKHATCH ADVENTURE PARK CANNOT ACCEPT ANY LIABILITY FOR INJURY CAUSED WHILST USING THIS PLAY AREA. ANYONE BREAKING THESE RULES MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PARK WITH NO REFUND GIVEN.

Rock Climbing Wall

  • You must weigh between 3st - 17st to wear the climbing harness
BEFORE YOUR CLIMB STARTS
  • After you put on your harness, stay in the harness area
  • Wait until we tell you to go to the climbing area
DURING YOUR CLIMB
  • Stay on the climbing route for your station
  • Don't cross over to put yourself directly beneath or above other climbers
  • Don't climb without shoes or a top on
  • Don't climb beyond the wall top
DURING YOUR DESCENT
  • Don't kick off more than 1.5m from the wall
  • Rappel straight down and don't swing too close to other climbers
  • Be alert for other climbers beneath you who may have strayed off their route
AT THE END OF YOUR CLIMB
  • When you are lowered to the ground at the end of your climb, land on your feet
  • After your climb is complete, wait for us to unhook you
  • Once you have been unhooked, go to the harness area where we will remove your harness
  • Please do not try to remove the harness yourself

Outdoor Adventure Playground (6 years and over)

  • You are responsible for your own children
  • The play area is for 6 year olds and over
  • Do not lift anyone on to the play equipment
  • Do not push anyone on the rope swing or zip slide
  • Make sure that you are in good health before you use any of this equipment
  • By taking part in this activity you are agreeing to adhere to the rules listed above and understand that there is a possibility of injury.
  • Failure to comply with any rules may result in a staff member asking you to withdraw from using the equipment

Chestnut Wood Adventure Play Area and Sandpit (3yrs - 12yrs)

  • You are responsible for your own children and children must be supervised by a responsible adult
  • The play area is for 3-12 year olds
  • Don't climb on the roofs or the play equipment
  • Don't lift anyone on to the play equipment
  • No running or rough play
  • Don't throw sand

Pirates Cover Paddling Pool (3-12 years)

  • The play area is suitable for 3-12 year olds
  • You are responsible for your own children, and all children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
  • Any child under 3 must be attended at all times by an adult and we would advise they do not use the slide.
  • Paddling pool depth 12in / 300mm
  • No running, jumping, or diving
  • No nude paddling
  • No rough play
  • No food or drink in this area
  • Be aware of sun exposure
  • Children wearing a nappy must wear a swimming nappy
  • The gate must stay closed at all times
  • If you have a medical condition prohibiting you from swimming, please do not enter the pool
  • Some swimwear, towels, waterproof nappies and sun cream can be purchased from the gift shop

Rowing Boat

By taking part in this activity you are agreeing to adhere to the rules listed below and understand that there is a risk of falling into the water - especially when getting in and out of the boats. Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in termination of your go. We reserve the right to refuse admission if we see fit to do so.
  • Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult
  • Do not pass the gate without being advised to do so by the operator
  • Everyone must wear a buoyancy aid
  • Do not splash others, rock the boat or collide with other boats
  • The rowlocks will break if you put them under too much stress - row sensibly!
  • You will have to step down into the boat so please take care
  • Any persons apparently under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed out in a boat
  • Your possessions are your own responsibility and Knockhatch Adventure Park Ltd will not take any responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items.

Simulation Ride

  • You need to be 1.4m tall to ride this attraction without an adult
  • You must be at least 0.9m to ride and anyone under 1.4m must ride and sit next to an adult
  • This is a dark, claustrophobic, loud, fast moving ride. If you suffer from any of the following please do not ride: heart disease, bad back or neck, epilepsy etc... Or any other condition that may be affected
  • Step into the simulator carefully and mind your step on the stairs
  • Stay seated at all times whilst the ride is in operation
  • Hold onto the hand rail at all times whilst the ride is in operation
  • While the door is closing or opening keep arms etc within the capsule
  • Do not touch the front screen
  • In an emergency press the emergency stop button
  • Exit the ride carefully and mind the steps on the way out
  • No running, no smoking, no photography
  • You will be told where to sit by the operator
  • You must sit in your own seat

Tommy Tractor Playbarn

  • This play area is for children aged 3-12 years
  • Wash your hands before playing or eating in this area
  • No food or drink in the play area
  • Keep within the fenced picnic area with food and drink
  • Do not climb on the roofs of the play equipment
  • No Running or rough play and do not throw any sand
  • Children using this equipment must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult

Tractor Tom Ride

  • You must be between 0.85 to 1.3m to ride
  • Spectators must remain behind the safety barrier at all times
  • You must stay seated and do not undo the seat belt until the operator indicates that the ride has stopped
  • No running, decking is slippery when wet
  • You must secure all loose clothing and shoes
  • We advise anyone with any medical conditions that may be affected on this ride should not attempt to ride
  • This ride can cause motion sickness
  • If you have just eaten please do not use the ride
  • If you have been around animals please wash your hands before entering and riding
  • By taking part in this activity you are agreeing to the rules listed above and understand that there is a possibility of motion sickness when using this ride

Wave Runner Water Slide

  • Bring a change of clothes - you will get wet!
  • All riders must be at least 1.2m to ride
  • You must not ride if you cannot sit on the sled unaided
  • Maximum of 1 person per sled
  • Items that can be damaged by water must not be taken on this ride
  • You must hold onto the front handles of the sled for the whole ride. Do not let go for any reason.
  • Only ride if you are not nervous. No rider should be forced to ride
  • On the steps keep an orderly single line on the right. Keep the left side clear for riders returning from the top
  • We advise that any one who is pregnant or with any medical conditions that may be affected on this ride should not attempt to ride.
  • Do not lean over the rails - if you fall you will be seriously injured or worse
  • No smoking

It was bar far the best family day out for a long time. Knocked the socks off other centres locally. We loved the Animal Encounters with Snakes and Spiders, the staff are fantastic, helpful, friendly and always on hand to help.
