The Ma Seirei Kai School of Martial Arts, a martial arts club based in Eastbourne, (with satellite classes in Hastings) will be here at Knockhatch showcasing a range of activities that they do. They will start the day by running a short class format that will cover the warm up, basics, kata and sparring, which will help visitors get an idea of what they do in a class. After this they will open the floor up and split in to groups to encourage Knockhatch visitors to participate. There will be a demonstration group showing some kata as well as sparring, and a group with kick shields and punch shields where visitors can join in and learn a few skills. The club will also be running a judo session where you can learn basics throws and locks on a crash mat. There will be some Ma Seirei Kai School students walking around handing out flyers as well as showing some self defence moves, so please feel free to stop them and ask them about what they are doing and any questions that you may have. They will also be showing various weapons such as Bo and nunchaku. The demonstrations will be finished by putting on some full contact koshiki gear and doing a demonstration match.
