Llama at Knockhatch Children's Farm

Llamas were originally native to South America

They have a strong herding instinct and will protect the baby wallabies from the foxes

Llamas which are well socialized and trained to halter after weaning are very pleasant and friendly to be around.  Llamas will rarely spit at humans but however will sometimes spit at each other as a way of disciplining the lower ranked llamas

The sound of a llama making groaning noises or going "mwa"is often a sign of fear or danger.  If this happens it is likely that the llama will lay their ears back and spit
